A Fulton man wanted in connection with an assault was arrested Tuesday near the state line in Graves County.
Deputies had been investigating Tyler S. Forrester since an assault that occurred on January 23rd. Allegedly, Forrester had pistol-whipped a person in the Dukedom community and fled into Tennessee.
On Tuesday morning, Graves County detectives got a tip that Forrester was back at a residence in Dukedom, around a hundred yards from the state line. Surveillance was set up around the home. As the suspect emerged, deputies attempted to arrest Forrester, but again he fled intoTennessee. This time, Weakley County Sheriff's deputies were waiting.
Forrester was arrested in a pond. A backpack he tossed as he fled was searched and allegedly contained methamphetamine.
Forrester was charged with assault, resisting arrest, fleeing or evading, and possession of methamphetamine.
