Mayfield man wanted for drug trafficking arrested after foot chase

An undercover investigation and a foot chase led to a Mayfield man's arrest on drug charges Friday.

The sheriff's office said they previously purchased meth from 69-year-old Jeffrey D. Blake, then went to his home Friday afternoon with a warrant.

Blake was found on Ridgeway Street and an arrest was attempted, but he reportedly broke loose from detectives then ran into the woods.

After an alleged physical altercation, Blake was taken into custody and reportedly found to have meth, Lorazepam, Suboxone, and marijuana.

Blake was served with the trafficking warrant and additionally charged with fleeing or evading, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of marijuana.

He was taken to an out-of-county jail.
