Gas prices continue on the rise

Gas prices are continuing to rise in the region.

Triple A's East Central Gas Report out Monday found the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in West Central Kentucky stands at $4.08 per gallon, up 19 cents from last week.

However, the average price in Paducah is below the region average standing at $3.97 per gallon this week.

Nationally, the average this week is $4.47 per gallon, up 16 cents from last week.  Crude oil prices are averaging $100 per barrel amid continuing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

The national average is inching closer to this year's record high of $4.56 per gallon set on May 21st. 

The all time high is $5.01 per gallon set on June 14, 2022.
