A Georgia teenager was arrested in connection with a threat made to McCracken County High School last week.
Last Friday, McCracken school resource officers requested deputies respond to the school because they had received a phone call where the person stated that a shooting was going to occur.
High school administrators placed the school on lockdown as deputies arrived, but no threat was found.
According to the sheriff’s office, their follow-up investigation led them to a suspect in Valdosta, Georgia.
On Tuesday, with the help of the Valdosta Police Department, detectives spoke with the 15-year-old suspect and determined the juvenile did make the threat to the high school.
An arrest warrant was issued for second-degree terroristic threatening.
According to the sheriff’s office, Valdosta police are investigating other possible illegal activity.
