A Gilbertsville man was arrested and charged with theft after a complaint brought Lyon County deputies to a business in Kuttawa.
Deputies were called about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon after a business in Kuttawa reported what was described as a suspicious individual. That person was later identified as 63-year-old James W. Patten of Gilbertsville. Patten is said to have been found with items valued at $582.75 that were reportedly taken from the store. Patten was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking. He was taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center.
While still in the facility in Marion, Patten was served the next day with a warrant charging him with failure to appear in a traffic case out of Hopkins County.
