On Friday, the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office completed an investigation into reported animal cruelty at a residence on East Tennessee Street in Grand Rivers.

Deputies with assistance from animal control searched the property and discovered nine deceased dogs. One additional dog was rescued and placed into the care of animal control.

They said 43-year-old Michelle Godwin of Grand Rivers was arrested and charged with nine counts of torture of a dog or cat.
