A Hickory man has been arrested following a July indictment on physical and sexual abuse charges dating back to 2021.

Kentucky State Police troopers got a tip on Wednesday that 40-year-old Brooks Brown of Hickory had been living at a home in Murray. Brown was located at the home and served with the indictment warrant.

A Carlisle County Grand Jury handed down the indictment back in July. That indictment charged Brown with attempted sodomy with the victim under 12, criminal abuse/neglect of a child under 13, strangulation, distribution of obscene material to minors, and being a persistent felony offender. The charges stem from an investigation opened in 2025 into alleged abuse that is said to have happened in Carlisle County in 2021 and 2022.

Brown, who was the subject of a “Wanted Wednesday” post this week from KSP, was arrested and booked into the Calloway County Jail.
