The inaugural Christmas in July Marina Crawl at Lake Barkley is set to take place on July 16.

The Lake Barkley Chamber of Commerce aims to celebrate resilience and showcase the lake community after the December tornado.

Boaters are invited to participate in the marina crawl by registering their boats with a $25 registration fee at the Chamber.

Beginning at 8 am, boaters will travel on Lake Barkley to participating marinas, campgrounds, and business bonus stops to collect five ornament stamps on their tree.

If participants make a purchase at the stops, they can take a picture of their receipt and email lbmarinacrawl@gmail.com to gain an entry for Santa's Sensational Prize Sack. The more receipts submitted, the greater the chance for prizes.

After participants get at least five stamps, they can return the Christmas Tree Passport to the check-in dock at Holiday Hills Resort for a cash drawing of $500 at 3, 4, and 5 pm.

Boaters are encouraged to decorate their boats for the event and text a picture to 270-388-4769 for a chance to win Santa's Sleigh Award.
