Eight cases were reported in July, and 26 in August. Nine of the cases statewide have been confirmed in the past week.
The Kentucky Department for Public Health describes it as an ongoing measles outbreak, with multiple cases confirmed among individuals living in several different counties.
All 38 cases occurred in people who were not vaccinated.

Barren County 5
Caldwell County 2
Christian County 14
Jessamine County 4
Owen County 1
Todd County 1
Trigg County 6
Washington County 5
Four cases were confirmed in Jessamine County in January, but are not considered part of the current outbreak.
