Lull in snowfall this afternoon will transition to some sleet this evening

The forecast "lull" for this afternoon is occurring on schedule, and it could still bring sleet to the Kentucky/Tennessee line later this afternoon.

Warmer air aloft is working through western Tennessee and may start to work into southwest KY and far southeast Missouri by 3 to 4 pm providing some sleet mixing in. 

Current accums from the first band are roughly 1 to 2 inches so far. In summary everything is pretty much going as anticipated.

The big question right now is how warm air aloft works into western Kentucky and how much sleet occurs.

Slick, dangerous travel and bitter cold will persist across the entire area.
