Mayfield/Graves County Parks and Recreation employee arrested on theft charges

A Mayfield/Graves County Parks and Recreation employee was arrested Friday on theft charges.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office said the Mayfield Graves County Parks and Recreation Board requested an investigation by the sheriff's office into suspicious purchases made by the employee, 38-year-old Trent E. Blackwood of Graves County.

A review of records and interviews with Blackwood led to his arrest.  Investigators said unapproved purchases utilizing an assigned credit card were made exceeding $1,000.  Blackwood was charged with theft by unlawful taking over $1000.
