The American Quilter's Society is ready for the return of its world-renowned AQS QuiltWeek event in Paducah, coming April 26-29 at the Schroeder Expo Center.

This year, seven hundred quilts will vie for $125,000 in prizes, all to be admired by over 30,000 quilters from 14 countries during the celebration.

In addition, quilters can enjoy workshops with some of the top experts in the quilt industry, and an extensive Merchant Mall comprised of both local and national vendors.

Between the well-known Paducah Ambassadors, residents opening their homes to quilters, special quilt-themed events, and restaurants offering special options, visitors experience the hospitality that makes Paducah famous among quilters. Local businesses and organizations complete the experience for quilters by presenting AQS sanctioned events.

Included in the QuiltWeek exhibits are the AQS Contest Quilts, Kona Color of the Year 2016, Applique Quilts from the Collection of Pat and Arlan Christ, Cherrywood Challenge 2016: The Lion King, SAQA: Made in Europe, Focus & Fiber: Quilts by Melissa Sobotka, Double Wedding Ring Quilts: Traditions Made Modern by Victoria Findlay Wolfe and the AQS Showcase.  Evening events feature fun and unique experiences, including the AQS Awards Presentation and A Night With Ricky Tims at the Carson Center.

Admission to AQS QuiltWeek includes access to all special exhibits and the Merchant Mall with hundreds of quilting items for sale. Hours are Wednesday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 4 pm. Ticket and additional information can be found at quiltweek.com or by calling 1-270-898-7903. This event is open to the public.

The American Quilter's Society is the largest quilting membership organization in the world. For more than 30 years, AQS has been the leading voice in quilting inspiration and advice. AQS believes that with the proper resources, creative individuals can take their quilting projects beyond what they can imagine.
