A multi-agency drug investigation resulted in the arrest of a Paducah woman in Crittenden County on Monday.
McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies said investigators in April identified 42-year-old April M. McKenzie as a possible source of meth in western Kentucky.
Investigators from several departments began observing McKenzie’s movements as she was driving through several western Kentucky counties. On Monday, a Kentucky State Police trooper pulled over a car that McKenzie was driving near Marion, Kentucky.
A drug dog alerted to the smell of drugs in the car McKenzie was driving. Investigators say they found two pounds of meth in the engine compartment during a search.
April McKenzie now faces drug trafficking and drug possession charges.
Detectives said they believe the case will be considered for federal prosecution.
