Murray man arrested in Calloway County on Florida warrant charging sex crimes with victim under 12

A Murray man was arrested Sunday in Calloway County on a Florida warrant charging him with sex crimes with a victim under 12.

The Port Orange, FL Police Department began an investigation into sexual battery and molestation of a child under 12, reportedly by 43-year-old Gregory Allen Harris, of Murray.

The report of the alleged behavior was made after the child disclosed the incident to a Kentucky school resource officer, which was believed to have occurred continuously from 2021 to 2024, while Harris was staying at a campground in Port Orange.

The Calloway County Sheriff's Department also helped with the investigation, and Port Orange Police detectives obtained an arrest warrant from Volusia County, FL for Harris on multiple counts of sexual battery and molestation of a child under 12.

Harris is now in custody and awaiting extradition back to Volusia County.
