A Murray man was arrested and charged with assault and resisting arrest after releasing a raccoon into a business. This incident came just months after the same man was arrested for fleeing police on a mule.

Murray Police got the call on Friday night just before 9:20 p.m. Witnesses said that a man turned the raccoon loose and then took off.

With a description of the individual and his vehicle, police located 40-year-old Jonathan Mason of Murray. Officers said Mason was not cooperative and would not roll down his window or get out of the car. Mason had to be forcibly removed from his vehicle.

Police said  the raccoon bit someone and Mason had already been told he was not allowed on the premises of that business.

Mason was arrested and charged with assault, criminal trespassing, and resisting arrest in addition to violations of traffic laws. He was taken to the  Calloway County Jail.
