If you're up for some fishing this summer, there are literally truckloads of catfish waiting for you at Lake Montgomery in Paducah's Noble Park.
Since March, the lake has been restocked with a monthly truckload of 1,100 catfish as part of a state program with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife. The catfish supplied weight about one pound each.
One more truckload of 1100 catfish are scheduled to finish up the Noble Park deliveries in early June.
It's all part of the state's FINs program -- Fishing in Neighborhoods. Forty-five lakes in parks across the state are replenished annually with catfish and trout. Kess Creek Park Lake in Mayfield is also stocked regularly as part of the FINs program.
Kids 15 and under don't need a license to fish. You can check out fw.ky.gov and search for FINs for a one stop shop for more info on the program, basics of how-to fish, stocking dates, regulations or for adults to purchase a fishing license.
