The Paducah Board of Commissioners approved a municipal order on Tuesday authorizing the city manager to release a request for proposals for design and construction of a new Parks and Recreation Department maintenance building.
The department’s maintenance division is currently housed in the building at 1400 H.C. Mathis Drive.
Last year, the Parks and Recreation Department moved its administrative function to the back of the renovated Robert Cherry Civic Center, and the recreation team to the Paducah Recreation Center.
The plan is for a new maintenance building to be constructed to house the 18-member maintenance team and equipment.
The building could potentially be located in Noble Park.
