The Paducah City Commission on Tuesday introduced an ordinance that would rename a street to honor longtime public servant Steve Doolittle.

Doolittle passed away in August, having served both the City of Paducah and McCracken County in several capacities, including most recently as the Deputy Judge-Executive. Because of his involvement working with both entities to help craft the Paducah Sports Park, the McCracken County Fiscal Court authorized Judge-Executive Craig Clymer to seek the name change from the City for Downs Drive, which will be the main entrance to the park.

The ordinance calls for changing Downs Drive to Steve Doolittle Drive, and it can be approved at the next regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission on February 10th.
