Paducah’s Fire Chief is now Kentucky’s Chief Fire Chief.
Chief Steve Kyle has been tapped to lead the Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs at the group’s annual meetings held earlier this week in Bowling Green. Kyle will serve a two-year term as the president of the organization. The Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs is an advocacy group serving leaders in the fire service. The goal is to provide unity and support, as well as information and education.
Paducah Mayor George Bray issued a statement that said, “I have observed closely Chief Kyle’s leadership journey and am very proud of his commitment to excellence. He makes us proud - proud for many reasons, but most importantly, because the Paducah Fire Department is essential to our community. As critical first responders and by ensuring safety through a commitment to the latest enhancements in both suppression and prevention, the Paducah Fire Department is one of the city’s most important assets. I offer my sincere congratulations to Paducah Fire Chief Steve Kyle.”
Chief Kyle added, “I am extremely proud and honored to represent the City of Paducah, Paducah Fire Department, and the Kentucky Fire Service.”
Chief Kyle was hired away from the State Fire Marshal’s Office to be Paducah’s Fire Marshal in 1998, before becoming the Fire Chief in 2009.
