Paducah man charged with possession of child sexual abuse images

Kentucky State Police arrested a Paducah man on charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material.

On Monday, the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch arrested 68-year-old Steve Michael McRoberts as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, launched after reportedly discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.

KSP served a search warrant at a residence in Paducah. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. 

McRoberts is charged with ten counts of distribution of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under twelve years old, and ten counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance under twelve years old.  

Both charges are Class-C felonies punishable by five to ten years in prison. McRoberts was lodged in the McCracken County Detention Center.
