Part of the Greenway Trail to close Monday for work on sewer project

Work on a sewer project will force the closure of part of the Greenway Trail.

A subcontractor working with the Paducah-McCracken County Joint Sewer Agency will be working along the trail off of North 6th Street between Northview and Burnett. They will be pumping concrete across the floodwall as part $12.6 million construction project on a part of the system that handles stormwater and sanitary sewer. 

Monday's closure is only expected to last from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A longer closure is coming later in the Summer, as a 72-inch outfall pipe will be installed through the floodwall.
