Rain and cooler temperatures have replaced our stretch of pleasant fall weather for the next few days. Sunday will be our wettest day, but a chance for showers will linger well into next week.
The rain will be widespread over the eastern half of the country, with the heaviest to our south. On the national map, the blues over our region represent total rain this week of one to 1.5 inches. The purples in the Missouri Bootheel, west Tennessee and Arkansas indicate 2 or more inches, and the reds in the Gulf Coast states forecast 3 inches of rain or more.
Temperatures will hover on the cool side in the low to 60s, and Wednesday may not make it out of the 50s. Late week could also bring more mornings in the upper 30s.
