Mayfield stabbing incident leaves one juvenile injured

A stabbing incident on Saturday in Mayfield left a juvenile injured.

Police said they were called to Jackson Purchase Medical Center and the area near the Scott Thompson Tennis Courts just before 5 p.m.

Investigators said a 14-year-old juvenile allegedly stabbed a 13-year-old in the stomach during a confrontation.

On Monday, police said the victim is still in the hospital after undergoing surgery.

Police said the 14-year-old was released to the custody of a guardian.

They said charges are pending following their investigation.
