Solid waste rates in the city of Paducah will be increasing later this year.
Paducah's Board of Commissioners voted Tuesday to raise the rates over a two-year phase-in period.
The price for refuse and recycling will increase to $22.50 effective July 1st.
That figure will increase to $26.50 on July 1st, 2025 and the figure will stay the same in 2026.
In other action, commissioners passed a resolution declaring the city of Paducah a nuclear ready community and reaffirming support to reindustrialize the US Department of Energy site.
