A Symsonia woman faces DUI and drug charges after reportedly passing out behind the wheel in Metropolis.

Metropolis Police saw a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Madison N. Owen of Symsonia hit a curb and drive up onto the grass in front of the police department. The officer turned on his lights to stop the vehicle, but it continued moving through the parking lot and it hit another curb.

The officer witnessed Owen slumped over in the vehicle.  When he got to her window, a blue pill was reportedly hanging out of her mouth and another one was partially burned in foil in her lap. Owen was given Narcan and regained conciousness on a stretcher.

Police reportedly located Xanax and hydrocodone during a search.

Owen was taken to a hospital and charged with DUI and possession of a controlled substance.
