Suspect arrested after passing counterfeit bills in Graves, Fulton County

A suspect wanted in connection with passing fake money recently in Graves County was arrested Thursday.

The Graves County Sheriff's Office began the investigation February 13th after a Water Valley area business reported t a suspect had attempted to pass counterfeit currency. When confronted, the suspect fled from the business.

Investigators learned the suspect, 57-year-old Richard A. King of South Fulton, TN, attempted to pass fake bills at a Fulton business.  

On Thursday, Graves deputies along with officers from the South Fulton TN Police and Obion County TN Sheriff’s deputies located a possible residence of King. After a short surveillance of the home, officers observed King and he was taken into custody.

King was arrested on a Graves County arrest warrant charging him with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. He is also facing similar charges from other jurisdictions.

He was lodged in the Obion County TN Jail awaiting extradition back to Graves County.  The investigation is continuing.
