Tennessee man arrested in Wickliffe after two-state pursuit

A multi-agency pursuit Saturday night that started in southern Illinois ended in Wickliffe with the arrest of a Tennessee man.

Ballard County Sheriff Deputies said they were notified by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office they were in a pursuit of a vehicle entering Ballard County on US 51 from Cairo. Ballard deputies utilized spike strips on the vehicle to deflate the tires, but it continued into the city limits of Wickliffe pursued by Pulaski and Ballard deputies. The vehicle finally stopped at Second and Cumberland Streets.

The driver of the vehicle, Niarobi Montaze Brooks of Union City, was arrested and charged with fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, possession of marijuana and several traffic violations. 

Brooks was lodged in the Ballard County Jail.
