A Tennessee man is facing manslaughter and other charges in the wake of a January crash in Calloway County that killed his passenger.

The crash occurred on January 29th along KY 121 south near Cherry Corner Road. A pickup driven by 59-year-old Darin Randazzo of Springfield, Tennessee ran off the road and rolled into a six-foot ditch. The truck came to rest on the passenger side.

According to the report from the Calloway County Sheriff's Office, fire and EMS personnel had to extricate Randazzo and his passenger, 53-year-old Mendiola Quintanilla of Paducah, from the truck. Quintanilla was reportedly wearing a seatbelt but did not survive the crash.

Investigators said they suspected the driver of being under the influence because they allegedly found alcoholic beverage containers and marijuana in the vehicle.

Warrants were issued for Randazzo and he was arrested Wednesday by the Henry County, Tennessee Sheriff's Department. He is charged with manslaughter, DUI, possession of open alcohol containers and marijuana, and driving too fast for conditions.
