Monday, Graves County Schools announced that Janet Throgmorton had been named the next principal of Graves County High School.
Throgmorton, a graves county native, is proud to say that almost 40 years of her life have been devoted to and made better by the Graves County School District. She has been the principal of Fancy Farm Elementary, where she has served for the past 12 years.
"What we do is definitely a calling, and it's a privilege to love and serve in the community I grew up in," said Throgmorton.
Throgmorton is a proud 1991 graduate of Graves County High School. She furthered her education, earning her associate's degree at Shawnee Community College and her Bachelor's degree at Murray State University, before beginning her teaching career at Fancy Farm Elementary.
She assumes her new role on July 1.
