Travel delays likely on US 51 in Carlisle County due to bridge replacement

Travelers on US 51 in Carlisle County could see a delay as bridge replacement work begins.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the work will be at mile point 4.4, between Arlington and Bardwell, as the bridge over Little Mayfield Creek is being replaced. 

The project will restrict traffic to one lane, and will be controlled by a temporary traffic signal, which will allow vehicles to alternate through the work zone. Also, there is a 10.5-foot lane width restriction.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year, weather permitting.
