Kentucky State Police troopers have been asked to investigate the death of an inmate who was in the custody of the McCracken County Jail.
Troopers said 29-year-old Michael Sackatook of Paducah was being housed in an isolation cell under constant surveillance.
KSP investigators said they were contacted by jail officials after Sackatook was found unresponsive Tuesday and transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Troopers said they reviewed security video from the jail, and an autopsy was conducted on Wednesday. Troopers do not suspect foul play.
Kentucky State Police will continue to investigate Sackatook’s death.
