US 60/62 bridge into Missouri closed due to structural issues

The US 60/62 bridge that crosses the Mississippi River between Alexander County, Illinois and Mississippi County, Missouri has been closed to all traffic.

According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, issues found during the routine inspection of the 93-year-old bridge were described as "critical."

The bridge will remain closed until engineers develop a plan to address the issues.
