Flash flooding overnight closed roads and put drivers in jeopardy in several counties on Saturday morning.

In Caldwell County, a vehicle became stranded in water along Highway 91 near Skinframe Creek north of Princeton.

At 5 a.m., two vehicles and drivers were stranded in flood waters on Highway 855 between Frances Road and Brown Mines Road. Emergency crews used a swift water boat to remove both drivers.

In Livingston County, portions of KY 133 became flooded with creeks rising and a concern that some homes could become cut off. 

A flash flood watch remained in effect in southwestern Crittenden County until noon. A flood watch remained in effect for much of the Quad State until Saturday night.

Radar indicated that as much as 9 inches of rain fell in the past 48 hours over parts of Crittenden County, as well as Pope and northern Massac counties in southern Illinois.
