This year's fair is taking place in the midst of a $470 million transformation of the Kentucky Exposition Center.
Officials said the construction work will affect the availability of some parking, but shouldn't hamper fairgoers ability to enjoy the fair's highlights.
Fair organizers expect that more than a half million people will visit the fair, which has the added theme of America 250 this year.
Before you arrive, it's strongly suggested that you download the official Kentucky state Fair app on your phone. On the app you can find schedules of what's happening every day, and a comprehensive map of where everything is located.
Parking is free with the fair's $12 admission ticket if you buy online. At the gate, parking will be an additional ten dollars.
It's suggested that to avoid the biggest crowds, attend the fair during weekdays, or arrive in the morning on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
