Jeffersontown Police played the role of Grinch when they confiscated 55 pounds of suspected methamphetamine wrapped inside Christmas packages on Monday.
Police arrested 23-year-old Jacob Talamantes of Nebraska after their K9 alerted officers to the presence of illicit drugs in Talamantes' car. Police said they found the festively wrapped packages containing meth in the trunk.
According to police, Talamantes tried to walk away from the officers but was detained. He reportedly told officers that he was traveling from Iowa and intended to traffic the drugs.
Talamantes is charged with trafficking in a controlled substance, a felony per Kentucky state law.
