For third year, Beshear declines to speak at Fancy Farm

For the third straight year, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear will not be attending the St. Jerome Fancy Farm Picnic next Saturday.

Beshear declined an invitation to the 146th annual barbecue and stump meeting which has become Kentucky's traditional kickoff of the general election campaign season.

The updated list of speakers features nine Republicans including U.S. Senator Rand Paul; U.S. Representatives James Comer and Andy Barr; State Senator Jason Howell; State Representative Kim Holloway; Attorney General Russell Coleman; Ag Commissioner Jonathan Shell; State Auditor Allison Ball; and State Treasurer Mark Metcalf.

Three Democratic speakers will include Lt. Governor Jacqueline Coleman; John Drew Williams and Charles Booker.

The political speaking program will begin at 2 p.m. It'll be hosted by WKYT’s Dave Baker.
