The academic achievements of nearly 5,000 college students were celebrated at spring commencement ceremonies over the weekend at Murray State, Southern Illinois Carbondale and Southeast Missouri State univerities.
Murray State University held commencement ceremonies at Racer Arena on Friday and Saturday for 1,642 spring and summer graduates.
Graduates came from 22 countries and 39 states.
1,101 students graduated with their associate or bachelor’s degree, 35 with a certification, 73 with a doctorate and 383 with a masters.
SIU commencement was held Friday and Saturday for 2,087 candidates, including 1,402 candidates for bachelor’s degrees, 432 master’s degrees, 98 doctoral degrees, and 87 law degrees. The graduating candidates represented 19 different countries.
More than a thousand students at Southeast Missouri State University walked across the stage at the Show Me Center on Saturday to accept their diplomas.
SEMO celebrated 1,150 graduates during two spring commencement ceremonies at the Show Me Center on Saturday. There were 891 Undergraduates, 248 Master’s and 11 Specialist grads.
