Central Kentucky is only now getting the brunt of the weekend's major winter storm, with a wide range of winter precipitation headed their way.

Louisville and Covington (Cincinnati) are in line for 12 to 15 inches of snow. Elizabethtown, Frankfort and Lexington are forecast to be in the narrow 8 to 12 inch band.

Southeastern Kentucky will escape with just 2-6 inches of accumulation.

But the southern half of the state is paying for a smaller snow forecast because they're facing some significant ice.

From Bowling Green to Pikeville, ice totals through Monday morning could range from a quarter to half inch. A smaller wedge from Bowling Green to Campbellsville may see three-quarters of an inch, enough to cause tree damage and bring down power lines.
