The Kentucky Public Service Commission will hold its first of six meetings across the state regarding nuclear energy on Feb. 26 at the Morehead State University Space Science Center.
Kentucky PSC chair Angie Hatton said recent technological advances have made nuclear energy potentially more affordable and attainable, but the technology is still very expensive. The meetings will examine all angles of nuclear power's impact on ratepayers, electric grid reliability, our environment, economic development and our workforce in Kentucky as they explore the state's options.
The meetings are for state residents, businesses and local officials to discuss their ideas and concerns regarding nuclear generation.
Future meeting locations and dates will be released later.
