In response to the deadly storms that have impacted counties in southeastern Kentucky and the State of Emergency declaration, Kentucky REALTORS® announces $100,000 in tornado relief funding.

Relief assistance is limited to one month of housing expenses up to a maximum of $1,000 per household. Relief funds can be applied toward assistance with mortgage or rental payments, as well as lodging assistance for those who were displaced due to the natural disaster.

The new $100,000 in relief funding is separate from previous Kentucky REALTORS® Relief Foundation grants. This allocation is to help people who were impacted by the tornadoes in southeastern Kentucky beginning late on May 16, 2025, and continuing into May 17. Eligible residents are encouraged to submit their applications at KYRrelief.com. The application window is currently open and will close on July 15, 2025, at 5 p.m., Eastern Time.

Relief funds from the previous $125,000 allocation are still available to assist those who experienced home damage due to the flooding beginning on April 2, 2025. Eligible residents are encouraged to submit their applications at KYRrelief.com. The application window is currently open and will close on May 30, 2025, at 5 p.m., Eastern Time.

“As severe weather continues to devastate the Commonwealth, Kentuckians continue to persevere,” said Barb Curtis, president of Kentucky REALTORS®. “We want to ensure residents across the state have the resources they need as they begin to rebuild. Whether it’s through our KRRF relief funds or with supplies hand-delivered by our members, Kentucky REALTORS® are committed to helping our neighbors however we can.”

REALTORS® across the state are dedicated to the communities they serve. Since the devastating western Kentucky tornado outbreak in December 2021, the Kentucky REALTORS® Relief Foundation and the national REALTORS® Relief Foundation have allocated nearly $2 million in relief funds and housing assistance to victims of natural disasters in Kentucky.

Including this most recent grant, the Kentucky REALTORS® Relief Foundation has made $500,000 available for Kentuckians impacted by severe weather and flooding since Gov. Beshear declared the first State of Emergency on February 14, 2025.
