Missouri drive in theater devastated by storm hopes to rebuild

The southern Missouri drive-in theater that was heavily damaged during storms this week has posted its hopes to rebuild for next season.

The screen and marquee at the 21 Drive In at Van Buren were both heavily damaged Tuesday by severe storms and high straight-line winds.

Due to the extent of the damage, the business was forced to close its season early.

They posted on Friday that they were overwhelmed by the community support, and plan to begin recovery efforts.

A social media post said that they hoped to announce fundraising efforts to restore the drive-in for future seasons.
