Chiefs drop season finale 9-6; will host playoff opponent Tuesday

The Paducah Chief lost a five-run lead and fell to the OVL champion Full Count Rhythm 9-6 in Saturday's regular-season finale in Hendersonville, TN.

Brett Haas and Tyler Humphrey both knocked in a pair of runs for Paducah. Humphrey, Brayden Walker and Kobe Watson each had two hits.

Reese Oakley started on the mound for Paducah, the first of seven Chiefs pitchers who saw action.


With the conclusion of the regular season, the OVL playoffs begin with single-game eliminations on Sunday.

Game 1: The Fulton Railroaders will host the Madisonville Miners at Lohaus Field in Fulton. The winner will advance to face Paducah in a best-of-three series starting Tuesday.

Game 2:The Henderson Flash will host the Hoptown Hoppers at Park Field in Henderson. The winner will advance to face the Full Count Rhythm in a best-of-three series.

 
Semi-Finals (July 22, 23, and 24)
Semi-Final Series 1: The Paducah Chiefs will host the winner of the 3-seed/6-seed elimination game in a best-of-three series. Game 1 and Game 3 (if necessary) will be played at Brooks Stadium, and Game 2 will be played at the home field of the opponent. 

Semi-Final Series 2: The Full Count Rhythm will host the winner of the 4-seed/5-seed elimination game in best-of-three series. Game 1 and Game 3 (if necessary) will be played at Creek Park in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and Game 2 will be played at the home field of the opponent.
 
OVL Championship (July 26, 27, and 28)
The winners of the two Semi-Final Series will face off in a best-of-three series beginning Saturday. Games 1 and 3 (if necessary) will be played at the home field of the highest seed, with Game 2 played at the home field of the lower seed.
