The Murray State Racers couldn't overcome ice cold shooting in the first half, and fell 73-60 to the McNeese Cowboys in their second game of the Cayman Islands Classic on Monday night.
The Racers' first half performance caused some head scratching when they hit only 4-of-23 shots from the field for 17 per cent, 3-of-15 from the 3-point line and 6-of-15 (.400) from the free throw line, by a squad that had been leading The Missouri Valley Conference with 94.3 points per game.
The drought put the Racers in a 40-17 hole at the halftime intermission.
In the second half, the Racers outscored the Cowboys 43-33, but could only get as close as 13 points with 1:10 left to play.
Mason Miller scored 14 points to lead the Racers and Roman Domon put up his second-straight double-digit scoring game in the Caymans with 11 points.
The Racers (4-3) close out the Cayman Island trip Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. against the George Washington Revolutionaries (6-1).
