Paducah Tilghman High School has tapped David Davis to be the new head boys basketball coach.

Davis comes to Paducah from his alma mater, the Meridian Community School District in Mounds. He led Meridian to the Class 1A State Championship game as a player and a coach.

Davis has been recognized as Coach of the Year multiple times by the conference and the Coaches Association during his tenure with the Bobcats.

Paducah Tilghman Principal Deatrik Kinney said, "Coach Davis brings a wealth of experience, passion, and a commitment to excellence that aligns perfectly with our school's values." He added, "We are confident that under Coach Davis's leadership, vision, and knowledge, our basketball program will not only strive for success on the court but also foster growth, teamwork, and resilience in our student-athletes."

Davis replaces Greg Overstreet, who was let go in April after six seasons.
