The Mustangs got into an offensive shootout for the second weekend in a row against a Tiger team. But after a loss to Murray, McCracken got back into the win column against Hopkinsville. The Mustangs piled up 551 total yards, using the run to open up the passing game. Landon Newman rushed for 238 yards on 28 carries, with three touchdowns. Kicker Brock Wilson set a new school record when he booted a 50-yard field goal. McCracken (3-4, 1-0) got their first district win, and will host Christian County after a bye week.
Paducah Tilghman 35 Logan County 27
Tilghman (6-1, 3-0) put themselves in the driver's seat in the 4A First District race. DJ Wilson ran for 157 yards and two TDs, and Cam Wade caught 4 passes for 117 yards, including an 89-yard breakaway in the second quarter. Avery Thompson added 102 yards receiving. Stone Crow passed for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Tornado defense held Logan County to just 100 total yards, led by Wyatt Gower and Brady Sanderson with 8 tackles apiece. After a bye week, Tilghman will travel to Warren East on Oct. 17.
