University Heights Academy and Heritage Christian Academy will not have softball teams this season

Two schools in the 8th District of the 2nd Region will not field softball teams this season.

WKDZ reported Tuesday University Heights Academy and Heritage Christian Academy will not field teams due to low numbers of interested student athletes.  The Lady Blazers reached the 2nd Region tournament in 2025.

Both schools say they are hoping to retun to competition in the future. 

The 8th District will have only three teams this year, with Christian County and Hopkinsville playing their final seasons before consolidatoin next year and Fort Campbell.
