The annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. March to the Monument and Celebration Luncheon, hosted by the Paducah/McCracken County Chapter of the NAACP, will take place on Monday.
The community is invited to gather at 9:30 a.m. at the Robert Cherry Civic Center, 2701 Park Avenue, for the March to the Monument. Participants will walk together in the median of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive to the monument near North 19th Street. There, local leaders will place a memorial wreath in a brief commemorative ceremony. Transportation will be available for those who require assistance.
After the march is a luncheon at 10:45 a.m. in the Paducah Tilghman High School Cafeteria. Dr. Clarissa Myrick-Harris White, Professor of Africana Studies at Morehouse College in Atlanta, is the keynote speaker.
The presentation begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Paducah Tilghman High School Auditorium. For ticket information, visit Luncheon and Celebration Tickets. Tickets, which include lunch and the program, are $35 each.
The W.C. Young Community Center Board of Directors will host the “I Am the Dream” celebration at 7 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 830 Oscar Cross Avenue.
The celebration will feature a sermon by Pastor Donna Hawkins, music by GEE & the Community Mass Choir, and the presentation of the 2026 I Am the Dream honorees.
