Last week we weren’t just back at Murray Elementary to award another teacher, we awarded a second-time winner! Kara Brown is the November West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Month. She first won as a Kindergarten Teacher in March 2023. It was the first year of the Teacher of the Month awards. You can read more about it here.
Mrs. Brown is now a second-grade teacher and loving the role. She told us, “After 14 years in Kindergarten I came to 2nd grade and it has been wonderful!... now I get to see all the great things our Kindergarten and 1st grade teachers do.”
West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Month, sponsored by Scott Walker Construction, is awarded each month of the school year. As the November winner, Mrs. Brown will join the other 2025-2026 awardees for the West Kentucky Star Teacher of the Year. Each teacher’s school receives a yard sign to show that a “Teacher of the Month Works Here.” It’s a great addition to the school entrances and a way schools can show off their winning teacher! Also, thanks to our sponsor, all monthly winners receive $75!
