Ribbon cutting for Paducah Riverfront Park and excursion pier Sept. 18

The City of Paducah invites the public to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and family activities on Friday, September 18 to celebrate the opening of Riverfront Park and the excursion pier.

The opening ceremonies will take place at 4 p.m. at the Water Street floodwall opening between Broadway and Jefferson.

At 4:30 there will be live music at the Wilson stage and on the Compass Rose pavilion, along with games and food trucks. There'll also be golf cart tours and kids' train rides.

An edition of Movies in the Park will begin at 7:15 with a showing of "Finding Dory."
