$50,000 Powerball ticket sold in Mayfield

A $50,000 winning Powerball ticket was sold in Mayfield before Saturday night’s drawing, Kentucky Lottery officials announced.

The ticket was purchased at Pocket’s Shell Food Mart on Paris Road. the ticket matched four white balls plus the Powerball.

The win is the ninth $50,000 Powerball prize claimed in Kentucky during the current jackpot run which began Aug. 15 and has included 22 drawings. Other winning tickets in the streak were sold in Hopkinsville, Russellville, Paris, Florence,  La Grange, Harrodsburg, Lexington and online.

The jackpot has grown to an estimated $467 million heading into Monday night’s drawing.

Winners are required to claim prizes in person at Kentucky Lottery headquarters in Louisville within 180 days.
